Y Garn, the Glyders and Tryfen (the Black Mountain)
The trip began at 5am. I drove to Manchester, picked up Peter Falkingham and we drove to Nant Peris, a small village in Snowdonia, North Wales.
In all fairness, I really should not have been on those hills. I was by no means fit enough. Peter thankfully could read maps and we made it to the top of Tryfen, via Y Garn, Glyder Fach and Glyder Fawr. We slid down most of Glyder Fawr to the path leading to the Tryfen peak. Our descent brought loose many boulders and I can still vividly recall the sound of them falling behind me. The hike took around eight hours, ending in a well deserved pub meal by Lake Ogwyn.
Ben Nevis
Two days after the hike in Wales, the brothers Bilimoria met in Manchester, we drove six hours to Fort Williams. The walk to the summit of Nevis took three hours, we only stopped once (at the halfway point). The journey down also took three hours - we stopped more often to enjoy the views! We then drove straight back to Manchester. The trip door-to-door took just over eighteen hours.
A big thank you to everyone who sponsored us!
In total we raised £675/ 50625 INR.
